Shaun Murphy produced a blistering display of break-building to beat Stephen Hendry 5-1 and reach the semi-finals of the Rundili Wuxi Classic.
Former World and UK Champion Murphy took just 58 minutes to see off Hendry and set up a meeting with defending champion Mark Allen, who beat Marco Fu 5-3.
Murphy knocked in breaks of 77, 100 and 86 to go 3-0 up, and although Hendry pulled one back with a 73 to win the fourth frame from 62-0 down, there was to be no stopping Murphy as he piled in 113 and 68 to complete the scoreline.
Allen and Fu also produced a high-scoring contest. A 76 gave Northern Ireland's Allen the first frame before Hong Kong's Fu enjoyed runs of 75 and 131 in going 3-1 up. Allen, who won his first professional title here last year, roared back to win four consecutive frames with 81, 68, 80 and 62.
The two remaining quarter-finals take place later today, with Ding Junhui up against Ryan Day and Joe Perry playing Tian Pengfei.
