SNOOKER STAR ALEX HIGGINS IN PNEUMONIA SCARE

 alex higgins2

SNOOKER legend Alex “Hurricane” Higgins was recovering last night after being admitted to hospital with suspected pneumonia.

The 61-year-old ex-world champion, diagnosed with throat cancer 10 years ago, was said to be “comfortable” in Belfast City Hospital after being taken there on Wednesday. But there were fears over his long-awaited comeback.

Higgins, who lives in sheltered housing in Belfast, is due to appear with Jimmy White and John Parrott at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre next Thursday as part of a Legends Of Snooker tour.
